Fender JB-62 RI Jazz Bass 1994 (MIJ)

1994 Fender Jazz Bass '62 Vintage Reissue JB62 Electric Bass Guitar Olympic White, Japan MIJ.

Here we have, a 1994 Fender Jazz Bass '62 vintage reissue in 100% original condition, made at legendary Japanese Fujigen factory, honestly played yet with near pristine frets and offering excellent playability. This 1962 reissue Jazz Bass (officially model JB62-58) was made only for the Japanese domestic market, rarely seen outside its country of origin. This Japanese made Fender jazz bass is of exceptional quality as you would expect from Fender Japan, especially of this period. This would make a solid gigging or studio bass for someone while retaining the classic looks. It’s in good condition for its age with just some small dings to the body. The Vintage White gloss finish shows some dings and chips as you would expect from more than 30 years old lady.

The fit and finish of the "Made in Japan" instruments is top notch, and this Jazz Bass offers a smooth, resonant natural acoustic response. Weighing 8lbs 10oz, the bass has plenty of midrange presence and articulate growl, and rolling back the Tone control yields ample thump. Professionally setup and strung with roundwound 45-105 strings, this Jazz Bass plays well with comfortable action and spot-on intonation. The gloss finish on the neck profile is clean and smooth. The maple neck has a slender C-shaped oval-type profile carve with moderate shoulder and a bit more roundness and overall heft as you travel up the fretboard, measuring .815" deep at the 1st fret and .965" at the 12th. The rosewood fretboard is a thick slab with a vintage 7 1/4" (184R) radius and slender frets that have perfectly rounded crowns. The bass conforms to traditional Fender spec with a full 432 scale length and easily navigable 1 1/2" wide nut. On the headstock, the original clover button chrome tuning machines are intact, and the lightly ambered peghead sports the correct '62-style Fender Jazz Bass decal. The "Made in Japan" text and N-prefix serial are present above the four-bolt neck plate.

All of the electronics work as they should, the chrome hardware has plenty of shine, and the original plastic parts include the trio of knobs and red "tomato soup" pickguard. I have checked everything over, the trussrod and electronics all work perfectly as they should. The guitar plays and sounds fantastic.
